About Face Yoga

 

Face Yoga Method is a holistic and completely natural approach to healthy aging and general well-being. Face Yoga uses a combination of yoga-like body postures, specific face exercises, acupressure, massage, relaxation techniques, self-awareness and healthy lifestyle. Similarly to body yoga face yoga unifies body, mind and spirit and helps us to reduce unwanted signs of aging, gain natural face and neck-lift as well as achieve internal balance, stronger sense of empowerment & self-realization.

 

*Face yoga exercises help to tone and strengthen weak muscles and on the other hand they help to relax, release tension and stress from overworked, overused muscles and habitual face expressions. The exercises improve blood flow to the skin and muscles and as a result increase oxygen and nutrition to the tissues, stimulate production of collagen and elastin as well as help to remove toxins and byproducts. All this creates healthier skin cells, vibrant, toned, more elastic and softer skin. Face yoga is using both, hands and hands- free techniques. When using hands we apply pressure with the different parts of hands and make certain facial expressions.

 

*Face massage stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage and this helps to remove toxins accumulated in the skin .It helps to gently exfoliate the upper layer of skin increasing skin turnover and removal of dead skin and by this rejuvenates skin cells and creates glowing, vibrant skin and more contoured face. Facial massage also helps to replenish moisture in the skin .The massage reduces face muscle tension and stress related lines. And also soothes the nerves and relaxes the mind. In massage we gently manipulate skin and muscles with our hands.

 

*Acupressure is based on the concept of life energy that flows through natural pathways called "meridians". Chinese medicine teaches us that when everything flows, there is youth and longevity, while stagnation (of energy, blood, lymph) speeds up aging. Applying pressure to meridians on the face helps to restore the flow of energy and restores body balance and well- being. Acupressure reduces muscle tension and increases circulation

*Self-awareness gained with Face Yoga helps us to understand and pay more attention to our habits, repetitive actions and facial movements. With enhanced self-awareness we gain mindfulness so we can correct our “bad” habits which cause unwanted wrinkles and lines or even other health issues like headache or neck stiffness and replace ‘’bad” habits with the “good “ ones.

*Healthy lifestyle aspects of face yoga include body exercise, breathing, relaxation and meditation, positive affirmation, sleep, nutrition, skin care and self- care. Taking care of the body physically, mentally and emotionally helps to achieve personal happiness and life satisfaction, creates a feeling of peace and calmness within, increases self -acceptance, self- esteem and feeling positive towards life and enhances the ability to deal with stress. Face Yoga Can Help With

 

Face Yoga is mainly used for aesthetic purposes as facial lift and facial rejuvenation, resetting facial habits and general well- being. However, FYM can help with medical issues like TMJ syndrome, neck pain, headache and migraines, snoring, speech issues, facial paralysis (Bell’s Palsy – injury or inflammation of the facial nerve), in post stroke recovery, bad body posture and also reduces eye strain and improves eye vision. FYM helps in certain medical issues by increasing blood flow and oxygenation to the skin and muscles, regaining muscle strength and muscle symmetry, regaining facial muscle awareness, releasing muscle tension, relaxation and resting the muscles.
